Boys Teams – 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U*
Splashball – Ages 6–8
*16/18U Boys are in High School season in Fall, and 16/18 Girls are in High School season in Winter.
We welcome athletes from San Clemente and neighboring communities including San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, Capistrano Beach, Laguna, and surrounding South Orange County areas.

To register for an age-group team:
Step One: Confirm your USA Water Polo Membership.
Athletes must have a valid & current USA Water Polo membership, of Silver or higher affiliated with San Clemente Water Polo (CA-35384). This is mandatory for insurance. Your member number is required for SCWP registration in Step #2.
Note that if your athlete plans to compete in Junior Olympics and Qualifiers, they must have a GOLD membership.

Athletes will be assigned to an age group based on gender and birthdate provided during registration. You can look up your athlete's age-group assignment on our Age Group Bands page.
Schedule
General practice schedules can be found on each Team Page. Practice schedules and locations are subject to change based on pool availability, school schedules, tournaments, and special events. TeamSnap is the only source of current schedule information. Please check it before every practice.
San Clemente Water Polo generally follows the Capistrano Unified School District calendar. As a general rule, practices are not held when Capistrano Unified schools are closed.
Regilar practice begins week of August 31, with soft start dates for athlete assessments noted below:
- 10U: August 15 (Soft Start)
- 12U–18U: Week of August 24 (Soft Start)
- Standard schedules begin the week of August 31.
- 16/18U Boys: High school season takes priority in the Fall and club resumes in Winter.
8th grade boys with a 16U birthday should register for Fall. They will practice with 14U until the high school season concludes, then transition to 16U.
Registration & Fees
San Clemente Water Polo is a year-round athlete development program. Registration fees support the annual operation of the club, including coaching, pool facilities, staffing, insurance, equipment, and other fixed program costs that continue regardless of individual attendance. For financial convenience, practice fees are billed in four installments for 10U–14U and three installments for 16/18U. Fees are not prorated for seasonal differences, holidays, scheduled breaks, vacations, illness, injury, other sports, camps, weather, pool maintenance, or other absences. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-cancelable. Optional registration insurance is available during checkout for families who would like fee protection.
Registration fees include practices only. Uniforms, league play, scrimmages, tournaments, travel, and other program expenses are billed separately.
Team Placement
Registration does not guarantee placement on a specific team, with a specific coach, competition rosters, or amount of playing time. Coaches assign athletes to practice groups and competition rosters based on what they believe is the best fit at the time. As part of our long-term athlete development model, athletes may move between practice groups, teams, and competition rosters throughout the season.
Step Three: Make sure your TeamSnap account is active.
Team Snap is mandatory for club communications and is the only source for updated schedule information and team chat messages.
Family members who want access to roster information must be added to the athlete's profile. This can be done at registration, or via the athlete’s roster profile on the app. Turn notifications on to receive coach requests, invoices and schedule changes on time.
Step Four: Review Club Policies and codes of conduct.
Athletes are expected to understand and follow SCWP and USAWP codes of conduct at all times. Anyone that disrupts practice will be asked to leave the pool deck.
Parents are responsible for on site supervision before and after practice. Do not drop your child off and leave unless you checked them in with SCWP staff.
