An athlete's age-group assignment for competition is determined by the athlete's age on August 1st of the year in which the tournament is held. 

Think of August 1st as water polo’s "New Year". Once we pass August 1st, the age determination for the following year adjusts, so athletes may "age up" to participate on a new team.

SCWP is typically on break after the conclusion of Junior Olympics in July through most of August.  When we return for training at the end of August, we begin our new competitive season. The age of your child on August 1, 2024 indicates the group in which they will be able to compete during the season of August 1, 2024 through August 1, 2025.

Competitive Age Group Birthdays

For the annual 2024-25 season, players with the following birthdays will be assigned to age group teams noted below:

• • • 10U = Born 8/2/14 - 12/1/16
    • 12U = Born 8/2/12 - 8/1/14
    • 14U = Born 8/2/10 - 8/1/12
    • 16U = Born 8/2/08 - 8/1/10
    • 18U = Born 8/2/06 - 8/1/08
    • SPLASHBALL = 6-9 years old during session dates
